The Voice hasn’t been the same since Blake Shelton left and fans are constantly wondering: Is Blake Shelton coming back to The Voice? We have the answer below.

NBC’sThe Voice is a reality TV singing competition in which four celebrity coaches form teams of contestants through blind auditions and compete against each other until there’s one winner. The winning contestant receiving $100,000 and a record deal with University Music Group. The series first premiered in 2011 withShelton as one of the four original coaches. He was joined by Adam Levine, CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera.

Plenty of coaches came and went over the years, but Shelton was a mainstay for 23 seasons. He also holds the record for the most victories, with nine winning contestants. The show even introduced him to his now-wife, Gwen Stefani, who served as a coach for seven seasons.

The “Sangria” singer announced his departure on Instagram in October 2022. “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from ‘The Voice’ after the next season,” he wrote. “This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me. and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best. It takes a lot of work, passion and adult beverages (Ha!) to pull off a live show twice a week.”He has since been replaced by Reba McEntire. Country pop duo. Dan + Shay also joined the show for Season 25, marking the first time there has been more than one country artist on the coaching panel.

Is Blake Shelton coming back to The Voice? Blake Shelton’s days as a coach are most likely over, but there’s still some hope for his return.

While speaking toEntertainment Tonight at the grand opening of his new restaurant bar, Ole Red Las Vegas, on April 17, Shelton revealed if he would ever return. “I miss the people. I mean, those people became like family to me, literally from the crew all up to the producers of the show. I was with them more than I was with my family… I miss that,” he told the outlet, before noting that he doesn’t “miss the job at all.”

He continued: “I totally needed a break from that, because if I wasn’t into it then it wasn’t good for whoever was on my team. I don’t want to be someone who’s just going through the motions. Those artists need somebody fighting for them … The second I started feeling like, ‘Oh my gosh, I don’t even remember what season this is anymore. Who are the coaches on this season?’ [I knew that] I needed [to get] away from here.”

The country crooner did offer fans some hope, explaining that would be interested in coming back under one condition. “If they were ever able to put together the original four coaches again, maybe [I’d return] for one season, a one-off,” he said of Levine, Green and Aguilera. He added: “That would be fun for me… That would be something I would be interested in doing.” The Maroon 5 frontman remained on the show for the first 16 seasons, while Green exited after three seasons. Aguilera, for her part, served as a coach for seasons 1-3, as well as Seasons 5, 8 and 10.

Shelton and Levine had a long-running rivalry and spent nearly a decade tossing playful jabs at one another. Their dynamic was one of the best aspects of the show and fans would love to see the duo back on the screen together, if only for one season. Following Levine’s exit in 2019, Shelton told ET that it was “hard” to see his “frenemy” go. “I can’t imagine, honestly, what the show is gonna feel like at first without Adam there,” he told the outlet. “I mean, we’re about to start filming the 17th season of the show, and Adam has been my frenemy from day one, you know, down there on the end.”

Fans also want to see Shelton and Stefani serve on the panel again. The “Hollaback Girl” singer was a judge last season sans her husband, but she did not return for Season 25.

Season 25 of The Voice airs on NBC on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST and streams on Peaco*ck.
