  • Pillsbury crescent rolls: You can find these in a can in the refrigerator section.
  • Butter: This will add great flavor and help bind the sugar and cinnamon.
  • Brown sugar: This will make the sweet filling even more delicious.
  • Cinnamon: This adds the perfect flavor and replicate a cinnamon roll.
  • Powdered sugar glaze: just powdered sugar and milk to create this easy powdered sugar icing.

How to Make Cinnamon Crescent Rolls

Step 1: Preheat oven and prepare baking sheet

Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the crescent dough and lay on top of the baking sheet.

Step 2: Spread filling on crescents

Mix together butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Using a spoon, spread the filling on top of crescent dough. Then roll up the crescents and place on baking sheet with seams down.

Step 3: Bake crescents

Bake the cinnamon crescent rolls for 9-12 minutes, or until tops are lightly golden.

Step4: Drizzle with glaze

Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla. Then once the crescents have slightly cooled, drizzle glaze on top. Serve and enjoy!

Crescent Roll Desserts Variations

  • Add chocolate chips or Nutella to make a delicious chocolatey version. It has similar flavors as my chocolate chip cinnamon rolls, but made with less work and time.
  • Add nuts or chopped fruit for more flavor and texture.
  • Other yummy toppings: powdered sugar, cream cheese glaze, caramelor melted chocolate.
  • Can also make a variation for Nutella crescent rolls. Check out the ingredients and instructions in the recipe card below.
  • Another fun variation is to make a cheesecake filling by spreading cream cheese on top of the dough before adding the brown sugar. You could even add some diced strawberries.
  • I love using Pillsbury crescent roll dough for convenience just like with my crescent roll pizza recipe, but feel free to use homemade dough if desired

Storage and Reheating

  • Storage: Add to an airtight container or zip top bag and store in fridge for 2-3 days.
  • Freezing: Wrap each crescent individually in foil, then place in a freezer bag. Store in freezer for 1-2 months.
  • Reheating: Reheat in the oven at 300°F until warm for best results (about 3-5 minutes).

Way too much butter. Would cut that down by half next time I make them.

I made the mistake of using salted butter, as I saw I had a half stick in the fridge and didn’t check if it was salted or unsalted. However 5 stars because had I used unsalted they would have been great! Very easy.

I used the butter crescent rolls and added chopped pecans on top of the filling. Also, since I’m really not into glaze, and I had quite a bit of filling left over, I just spread it on top of the rolls before cooking. Served em warm, and OMG, they were amazingly good!!

Was wondering how long before baking you think I could do prep/filling before baking? Would love to have freshly baked after Christmas Eve dinner but don’t want to do the prep while guests are here.

You could roll them and place them in the refrigerator early in the afternoon. Or you could have them baked and just reheat in the oven for a couple minutes then add glaze.

filling needs more cinnamon, but it’s yummy and tastes similar to cinnamon raisin toast.

I added finely chopped walnuts to the center before rolling them up. Then I sprinkled the nuts on top after drizzling with the glaze. Delicious!
